Evidence will be sought that:
Key outcomes have been identified and targets have been set.

The criteria have been implemented.

Actual performance has been tracked and compared against targets.
Variances have been actioned and can be explained.
Positive trends are demonstrated.
The application for assessment is sent to the Secretary of the Optimus Approvals Board, Fáilte Ireland, 88-95 Amiens Street, Dublin 1.
An assessor is allocated to each establishment that applies for assessment.
The Submission Document is sent to the assessor by the prescribed date.
The assessor contacts the establishment and arranges a date for the assessment.
A desk review of the submission document is carried out.
An on-site assessment is undertaken (one day plus the evaluation of prescribed information).
A management report listing Strengths, Areas for Improvement and Required Actions is compiled by the assessor.
This report is sent to the Optimus Approvals Board for review and decision.
The establishment receives formal notification of the result from the Optimus Approvals Board, together with the management report.
The fee for the Best Practice Assessment is €1,825.00 + VAT. This fee, which must be paid in advance and submitted with the application for assessment, includes;
Pre-assessment review of submission document assessment (Half day).
On-site visit (One day).
Assessors report and management action plan (Half day).
Organisations being granted the Optimus Mark of Best practice will receive;
The Optimus Mark of Best Practice certificate and specially commissioned engraved trophy for public display. This certificate will be valid for a 12 month period after which the organisation must submit to a re-assessment or progress to the Optimus Business Excellence programme.
Permission to use the Optimus Mark of Best Practice logo on marketing and promotional material, subject to award recipients giving Fáilte Ireland a written undertaking that the regulations for the use of the Optimus and award logos will be strictly adhered to
Optimus certificates for the Co-ordinator and Steering Group members.
Regulations governing the awarding and cancellation of award are vested in Fáilte Ireland.
